I spent a year with my family in this place and it was enjoyable until we moved out We had just rented the seventhfloor two bedroom unit however only two weeks after shifting there the parkay floor began to peel off since it wasnt glued down properly Furthermore the laundries were too costly and generally out of order When I left I gave them thirty days notice as expected but two years later I got a call from a collection agency asking me to pay for electricity that was never disconnected Even after showing them proof of relocation they refused to believe me and instead of affecting my credit rating I paid the thirteen hundred dollars and was done with it But then again Enercare called me back demanding more money claiming that if I still resided there then I have to pay for their bill which was three years after moving out Its insane how they are unaware of who is or isn't living in their units if so then what stops anyone from going there and saying that they forgot their keys The management is highly unprofessional plus their prices are ridiculous To top it all off cockroaches were present during our stay as well along with water shut downs due to renovations while landlord could barge into your apartment at any given time without prior intimation Its such an injustice since the building has good location plus looks great but due to these issues one should avoid renting here at all costs more ... hide ...

I stayed in this building from July 2019 to June 2021 My unit was on the 22nd floor and had an amazing view Moving in was a bit difficult as there was still construction going on and I only had 45 minutes to move in but no complaints One great thing about this building is that each unit gets plenty of sunlight The appliances were good and I never experienced any issues with them the washer and dryer are quite large and located within the suite To pay for water hydro bills you need to contract with Wyse which can be expensive I usually paid between 125180 CAD per month for two bathrooms being usedThe gym is wellequipped but unfortunately kids often use it without supervision putting themselves at risk Maintenance requests were handled efficiently which was great The terrace patio is also amazing its a wonderful place for family dinners The staff members are kind and polite yet hard to contact over the phone if you drop by theyre happy to help though Mail boxesrooms are convenient while parking is shared with other buildings one car space per person should suffice though Elevators are a nightmare though only three of them that break down frequently waiting times can take up to 30 minutes sometimes Security is adequate however cameras arent installed on every floor just at entry pointselevatorsamenities floors etcetera Before COVID19 hit West22 would more ... hide ...

Having been living in this building for the past three years I would rate it a 35 Negative aspects of the building include bedbugs on several floors with management not being honest or adequately treating adjacent units Above Guideline Rent Increases AGI which have been the most across Ontario recently and construction that never stops with no consideration given to waste and parking blocks away Additionally laundry costs increased from 375 to 6 per load while machines are often out of service plus the room is too hot The building cleanliness has also decreased over time with garbage rooms not cleaned for weeks after raising it to management who accuse you of lying or being absent when they were cleaned Air conditioners can only be used in living rooms and require approval from management while leashing rules are rarely enforced leading to dog mess everywhere There is constant staff turnover making management inconsistent and unreliable plus hydro costs are very high due to third party company Wyse Meter charging exorbitant rates especially for new tenants On a brighter note there are spacious units as well as great schools parks and trails nearby while tenants remain friendly creating a great community some employees even go above and beyond All things considered if I could go back in time I wouldnt have rented here but given current rental market circumstances thats not possible so Im just trying to make the best of it whilst feeling disappointed and frustrated more ... hide ...

This is one of the worst building managements anyone could ever experience The apartment was in a terrible state when we got it eg bent curtains broken flooring broken window seals dog hair in carpet cockroaches broken stove burnt and shedding carpet and patio full of cigarette butts and poop We were promised that the issues would be fixed while we stayed there however after over a year they only managed to unclog the sink once and replace the stove top as it was completely broken Everything else has been supposedly in progress They waited until May 2022 to start construction which will keep my patio closed until September 2022 if finished on time The staff are incompetent with managers that have no customer service or management skills whatsoever It is truly an unfortunate situation with Homestead needing to be shut down and handed over to a more capable company for rental services more ... hide ...

The apartments appear to be costly and have an old heating system as well as old windows The flooring and kitchen look alright but could use some improvement in terms of putting the apartment together Although it is easy to get in contact with management things tend to take a while for them to get done The gym lacks quality and the pool is nice though

As a firsttime homebuyer I wish I had known then what I know now Do your research My experience with Tartan from the time of purchase to moving into my new home was not what I anticipated The sales people are polite until you sign the contract and afterwards they become cold and sometimes impolite Emails are ignored or answered abruptly which is unacceptable since we are customers Tartan does not offer options for changing their floor plans even small things like light switches and pot lights cannot be adjusted Furthermore most of their floor options do not offer matching stains for bannisters so many Tartan homes have mismatched railingsbanisters stain colors The design center has some nice selections but nothing too uptodate cabinet colors and quartz were also limited in my opinion The designers don't really help much either its better if you bring your own designer or a friend since they might give bad advice which happened to meThe worst part though is the tradespeople Tartan hires the paint job in my house was terrible paint on the floor over dirt missing paint etc while taping wasnt done well either as spackling got all over our new carpet and furniture with no drop cloths used beforehand Caulking wasnt done properly either and there were light switch plates that werent level in poor locations such as behind a door in a bathroom where its dark without any more ... hide ...
