Zone Westgate

3.9

I stopped by the office for a tour with my boyfriend and best friend we all had a great experience. The ladies in the office were very pleasant, welcoming, and took the time to answer all of our questions. We aren’t planning to move until the end of the year, but this community is definitely at the top of our list. The customer service and overall atmosphere left a very positive impression. Keep up the good work!

Since the new management company took over a few months ago it has gone downhill. They use to clean the massive spider webs off the walls & do pressure washing for the bird poop on the sidewalks & they no longer do this! It’s a terrible sight! We pay for pest control but there are insects creeping into the units all year around! Leasing office communication is terrible! They don’t answer the phone or emails! If you need anything they use no urgency. Along with cutting back on maintenance labor, they also have cut back completely on the events that old management would provide. They would provide food trucks & other fun events for FREE! Not this cheap management! This place is dirty & are providing a poor place of living!

I’ve had several noise complaints on my neighbors who think everyday is a party, yet no action has been taken from Zone Westgate. I had to call the Security team several times in the middle of the night for the noise (Security Team only works at night). Maintenance had to come to my unit over four times to fix the washer and dryer, and all they did was put the clean cycle on and vacuum the dust; which didn’t work. There are spider webs all over and insects crawling around despite the fee we pay to stop all that. My refrigerator is falling apart, the blinds to the sliding door keep falling off and they replace them with the wrong sizes, and the bathtub is chipping away. They claimed to have cleaners clean the unit before move it, but there was dust everywhere so we ended up getting our own cleaners.

I am not affiliated with this property directly, but I did call and speak to one of the leasing agents who refused to clarify her name for me over the phone. My young adult son was out looking for his first apartment and landed at The Zone today. To give you some insight, my son has a credit score over 740, a blue collar trade job that earns him over six figures and money in the bank, but felt immediately judged the minute he walked through the doors. I had been with him all morning, looking at other properties, and he finally felt confident enough to go to one on his own. How sad to be young, independent, accomplished, and driven only to be judged within a matter of minutes based off of how you look. I say this because my son has a lot of tattoos, and I see the looks he gets. I called to ask her why my son was treated with such disregard, this was after she admitted that she was the one who interacted with my son. When she gauged how upset I was, she then tried back peddling and telling me she was not the one to help, nor did she even remember an interaction with somebody by his first name. His name is Hector and here had an appt today, for reference. She was the only one in the leasing office at the time, before I let her know why I was calling she confirmed this for me as well. I am writing this review because I know it will get seen by the right eyes. This woman took no accountability or apologized and simply hung up on me and told me to call back on Monday. Anyways, congratulations to my son. He went back to the first property we visited today and instantly qualified with less than $500 to move in! He was treated with kindness and respect, and I feel confident that he made the right choice! As for The Zone, if you would like to rent more apartments, my advice would be to get somebody who actually enjoys people and their job, and not in the business to shun or look down on others. Pretty Woman movie moment for sure!

Updated review 12/23/22: I still would not recommend this place to anyone looking to live here, we are still dealing with remodeling taking up free parking for their residents even though it’s been a year and they still lack communication of giving their residents timely notice about thing’s happening to their community, less than 24 hour notice about parking restrictions through email after business hours before they tow your car for remodeling parking spaces. My lease is up next month and I didn’t even consider renewing the lease agreement because they tried raising my rent over 10%, as well as every time we have talked with the front office about questions we had they always make things difficult to get an answer. they will not allow you to read a lease contract without agreeing to rent pricing first, they send you the pricing 2 days before you have to your 60 day notice is one of the many issues we have ran into. Plus their lack of communication has cost me a rental property and money because they did not get in touch with the property owner in a timely matter making me lose that spot to another applicant. Even after I discussed face to face with the front office and having them assure me that they will send out the information he needed that same day but did not follow through. Your going to waste a lot of money here, I recommend looking somewhere else. End of update review. New management company is not the easiest to deal with. They don’t think about their residents already living here when making decisions to remodel. They don’t have enough parking for their residences and choose to take more Parking for the remodeling leaving us to pay extra in towing fees either from Westgate’s parking lot or from the complex themselves. Pillars at Westgate ( the complex management before Zone Westgate took over) was willing to work with the residents on this issue because they did remodeling as well before selling the complex and communication was on point with their residents. Zone Westgate leaves the residents out of the loop with the changes and plans of what is happening to our community. Every evening starting at 4 p.m till past midnight you can not find a free parking spot. Weekends are even worse, you won’t be able to find parking from Friday night till Sunday night. I’ve seen so many people scrambling for parking going to the extent of people standing in parking spots saving for others, people cutting others off to get past the gate first to find parking and people pulling into a free parking spot to save for someone else then park their car in a garage/ reserved parking after. When I brought this issue to the Zone Westgate the best advice they can give was to keep circling complex until a space is free and wait till construction is done. They won’t even let you rent out another reserved parking spot. My best advice is either keep you’re family unit to one car or none if you want to live here. Or just don’t live here.
