I lived at Parc Cit for nearly a year and although there are some downsides to the apartment such as having a communal kitchen or not being able to open windows these arent significant when comparing them to all the positive aspects To begin with I cannot emphasize enough how excellent the staff is no matter what time of day it was help was always available and they warmly welcomed me Before Covid19 we also had fun events with all the occupants every so often Emily the manager will do anything she can to make you feel comfortable The location couldnt be better in the middle of downtown Montreal and within walking distance from grocery stores eateries The building has everything you need work out room parking garage laundry area and a computer room with access to a printer Theres also study areas on each floor as well as shared kitchens which are always spotless and tidy although some residents don't contribute their fair share in keeping it that way As for the bedrooms themselves theyre spacious private and comfy you wont hear your neighbours due to soundproof walls nor have any trouble with noise levels The furniture is modern letting you adjust your bedroom however you like plus bathrooms are nice too Though if I had one thing I could improve it would be increasing WiFi stabilitygiving people an option for wired internet streaming Netflix they provide Roku devices studying is possible but gaming may cause slower speeds more ... hide ...

Its been five years since my parents have been living at the Steger Residence which is owned by Atria American franchise The staff here are great from the kitchen to the cleaning and office personnel they all feel like a big family Although it has improved since the three years prior I cant give this place full approval as a seniorfriendly home due to safety concerns For example there is no buzz code for visitors coming in winter making it difficult for those with walkers or wheelchairs to get inside Furthermore even if someone makes it into their car from outside entrance maneuvering around apartments within can be challenging with bathrooms and balconies not being level And lastly the backyard is completely inaccessible to those using walkers or wheelchairs Despite these issues though I recently had to hire Personal Touch Nursing Company which relies on Steger for my fathers declining health and after meeting with them we were able to resolve any past issues so overall Id still give this place 4 stars if not for safety concerns more ... hide ...

This building was terribly managed The staff were rude and the only friendly one was the doorman During COVID it was in a state of disarray Its built on an old infrastructure and everything about it looks improvised or dated like the carpets from the 80s and lowquality doors that don't leave much room if youre tall The fire alarm went off frequently with no warning there were two tiny elevators that were always filthy and if you chose to take the stairs instead get ready for an uncomfortable journey through a grimy passage that felt like being inside someones digestive tract To top it off they promised to clean the windows outside my 10th floor apartment but failed to do so after a year of waiting The AC wasnt working properly either The building appears to be more focused on making money than providing any type of enjoyable experience apparently lots of pot smokers hang around too so youll have quite a reggae concert vibe going on As for parking forget about it theres poor lighting in what resembles something out of a horror movie plus charges for even just standing in some sort of sewer space which cost me 100 Shopping online Don't even bother because due to lack of control or formality at this building I had packages stolen twice They also tend to charge high fees without giving any help with preclosing agreements they just stick with paper documents Although its location is nice this island full of unh more ... hide ...

This has been the most disrespectful experience Ive had with renting in my two years They have hidden fees for practically everything including a required 50 to install an air conditioner even if it doesnt hang out of the window we were threatened with lease termination if we didnt use them We had to pay for smoke detector batteries and lightbulbs as well as any minor service Further they refused to provide an itemized list of fees for a background check for a lease transfer and charged us a flat 250 fee for two peopleno option to pay only for one persons check Even something small like patching plaster was 50 Then after the first year they raised our rent by 100moan extra 8 The next year they wanted 5 more on top of that When we tried fighting this via Tribunal du Logement we were hit with expenses to cover construction costs that never seemed to endThe administrative office is unresponsive and fixing simple things takes forever plaster took a month leaky ceilings took three months replacement dishwasher was left uninstalled in our living room for weeks Additionally they havent taken action against tenants who disturb others eg blasting music so loud it shakes the floor instead advising us call police ourselves Inside the building is like an echo chamber since every door slams shut hard without provocation you get woken up every night because all doors are halfinch more ... hide ...

I live at the Montefiore 5885 Cavendish and its freezing The hydro bills are outrageous and even though the building was recently renovated insulation wasnt done correctly Everywhere you look there are gaps that arent sealed There have been two changes in ownership since it opened less than a year ago and occupancy is only at 3035 The lobby is beautiful but don't be fooled theres no luxury here no gym pool patio or doorman not even a roof terrace Leaks have occurred due to improper installation of windows and the floors are made of cheap wood with concrete underneath and no insulation making it even colder To stay warm people are using heating pads electric blankets while paying exorbitant hydro bills they can hardly afford Weve had to buy our own window coverings with no help from the landlord Several washerdryer units arent working so laundry has to be done in empty ones or wait for technicians to arrive Water pressure quality isn't great either theres an unpleasant chemical odor from pipes neither hot nor cold extremes can be reached easily Many tenants have decided to take their landlords to the Rental Board because of all these issues plus the fact that smoking is allowed when its not supposed to be leading us having towels beneath doors our belongings smelling like smoke During a power outage there were no emergency lights which couldve been dangerous for seniors living alone who wouldnt more ... hide ...
