I have been living here for more than two years however it is not worth staying and we are leaving this month We have had multiple managers in the span of two years so any attempts to address issues go nowhere For instance there has been water coming through our roof for a year that was only fixed after contacting their corporate office In addition to this the carpets smell of cat urine on hot days and I am forced to purchase pet odor treatment The hallways smell of garbage since people do not use the receptacles provided and there is dog poop everywhere if you walk through grassy areas Moreover while there are nice pictures online they do not reflect what is actually present the waterfall has weeds growing in it and the pond fountain does not even work There is no enforcement with regards to residents either as they just send out generic emails about parties or smoking but never act upon them often times requiring us to call police which does not always go well Positive reviews are encouraged though which can result in prizes but one must pay a premium for such an experience which is far from desirable Moving out also proves problematic so I would advise against living here in future more ... hide ...

Update 1022022 I recently received an email requesting a review so here it is The situation has been deteriorating since the new manager came in there are no improvements in sight When I emailed asking for a meeting to lodge a complaint about the front office staff they called me on my days off without leaving a voicemail or responding to my email Their behavior was far from professional and when I phoned with a simple query regarding payment fees using cards the employee was less than helpful by saying I don't know what the fee is but its between 45 Unbelievable This prompted me to opt for paying by check instead even though they closed their drop box and declared that they were going paperless To add insult to injury the rental rates have skyrocketed my friend asked for an estimate and it was 800 more than what I pay On top of all this there was mold growing out of the shower tiles which didnt even get fixed properly as soon as it bubbled up again after being retiled and reglazed Moving out cant come soonerUpdate As of March 31st 2017 things have gotten worse yet again on five separate occasions over two days I showed up at their leasing office during opening hours only to find that they had shut down with no explanation given whatsoever If youre going to accept packages on behalf of tenants then you should at least be available more ... hide ...

Clairmont at Hillandale has some bad reviews which is unfortunate because my experience living there was nothing short of great Its an ideal spot for Duke students or those working at the University Hospital since its only a 610 minute drive away I lived there for two years during school and hospital rotations and found it to be perfect Pros included the spa 2022-09-10T08:32:17Z
Clairmont at Hillandale has some bad reviews which is unfortunate because my experience living there was nothing short of great Its an ideal spot for Duke students or those working at the University Hospital since its only a 610 minute drive away I lived there for two years during school and hospital rotations and found it to be perfect Pros included the spacious reasonably priced apartments that had balconies with nice finishes a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of green space lighting in parking lot and free residentguest parking good amenities like pool playground and gym friendly staff who responded quickly to requests easy access to highway so you can get around Durham in 20 minutes or less Cons were traffic noise depending on building build up of trashrecycling near disposal area gates breaking down frequently sometimes taking daysweeksmonths to repair All in all I highly recommend this apartment complex if youre looking for an affordable place in North Durham more ... hide ...
