Equal access to housing information
FriendlyLandlord does not permit unlawful discrimination in listings or use of its service. Federal fair housing protections include race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and disability. State or local law may protect additional characteristics or sources of income. Owners and managers must comply with the rules applicable to their properties. Do not use listing text, eligibility statements, photographs, contact instructions, or other website content to communicate an unlawful preference or exclusion. A property's eligibility rules, voucher information, accessibility features, or age-related restrictions must be described accurately and lawfully. A website category does not determine a property's legal eligibility requirements.
Reporting discrimination
Email info@friendlylandlord.com with the page and the content you believe is discriminatory. Include the wording or a relevant screenshot if possible, with unnecessary personal information removed. We may review, restrict, or remove content under our policies. Our review does not determine legal liability or replace a government complaint. You may also contact the appropriate housing authority or civil rights agency. Information about reporting to HUD is available at https://www.hud.gov/reporthousingdiscrimination. Filing a report with us does not extend another complaint or legal deadline.
Verify before paying
Use an independently confirmed property website or business contact channel when checking an offer. Confirm the identity and authority of the person you are dealing with, the exact unit, availability, written terms, and all required charges. Be cautious about pressure to pay immediately or instructions that differ from the property's established channels. FriendlyLandlord does not receive rent, deposits, application fees, or holding payments. A person claiming that a rental payment must be sent to FriendlyLandlord is not describing a service offered by this website. Report suspected misuse of our name to info@friendlylandlord.com.
Limits of directory checks
A listing, photograph, claimed label, or website link is not a guarantee that a transaction is safe. We do not inspect apartments or provide an assurance about an owner's conduct through the directory services described here. We can review reported content and access concerns, but we cannot promise to recover money paid to an outside party. If you face an immediate threat or emergency, contact appropriate emergency services. For suspected fraud, consider contacting your payment provider and the relevant authorities promptly. Website email support is not an emergency response service.
