Cookies and Privacy Choices

Which browser storage and external providers the directory uses, and how to control optional embedded maps and other services.

Effective October 12, 2026

Currently enabled providers

OpenStreetMap supplies directory map tiles. Google Maps is optional and loads only after you enable embedded maps in Privacy Choices. Property photos may load from external image hosts. Google AdSense, Google Analytics, and Google Reviews are disabled. No optional advertising or analytics cookies are set by this release. Saved listings and privacy preferences use local browser storage. Apartment comparison selections also use local browser storage. Opening a comparison sends the selected property IDs in its URL to our server; anyone with that link can view the same public-property comparison. Use Clear in the comparison bar or clear browser site data to remove saved selections.

Browser storage and essential functions

Cookies are small pieces of information stored by a browser. Similar technologies, including localStorage, can remember preferences or support website features. Their purpose and behavior matter even when the technology is not technically a cookie. Browser storage supports owner sign-in and security, privacy preferences, and advertising. Blocking storage may affect the relevant feature. Rejecting optional advertising processing does not by itself disable browsing property information.

Advertising storage and personalization

Google AdSense and enabled advertising partners may place or read advertising cookies and use related technologies to deliver, measure, and personalize ads. Personalization can depend on activity on this and other websites, subject to applicable choices and legal requirements. Manage Google's personalized advertising at https://myadcenter.google.com/. You can review Google's partner-site information at https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. For participating third-party advertising companies, additional opt-out tools may be available at https://optout.aboutads.info/. An opt-out of personalized advertising does not necessarily remove all advertisements or stop processing needed for permitted ad delivery, security, or measurement. Available controls depend on the service and applicable law. A choice may apply only to a particular browser or device, so you may need to repeat it elsewhere.

Analytics maps and third party reviews

Google Analytics is not currently enabled. Optional Google Maps provides location information after you choose to load it. Google Reviews is not currently enabled. Depending on the feature, Google may receive technical information through cookies, similar technologies, or requests made when content loads. These functions are separate from FriendlyLandlord's own email-based review management. Our privacy controls apply to optional processing where relevant, and Google's own privacy information explains its handling of data. You can learn about Google's browser add-on for opting out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout/. The website's Privacy Choices control provides the choices applicable to enabled services. Where consent is required for optional analytics or embedded content, that processing follows the visitor's consent choice. A browser restriction or privacy choice may limit an embedded feature without preventing access to the directory's basic property information.

Website privacy choices

Open Privacy Choices in the footer to manage available advertising permissions and opt-outs. The control identifies the enabled advertising providers and links to information about their processing. Choices are applied to the browser or device where they are made; you may need to repeat them elsewhere. Where prior consent is required, we apply that requirement and your choice to the relevant nonessential technologies. Where an applicable law requires an opt-out or recognition of a browser privacy signal, we provide and honor it. Our Privacy Policy explains how to make a request by email. Browser controls can restrict or clear stored data. Clearing all site data may remove sign-in sessions, and privacy preferences. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track are different signals; our selected approach applies a detected signal from either as a request to restrict optional advertising tracking, as described in the Privacy Policy.
