I would not recommend this property based on my experience. After signing my lease for a specific apartment, I was later informed that it would not be available and was asked to accept a different unit. This created unnecessary stress and made me question the reliability of the leasing process. Better communication and honoring signed agreements would greatly improve the resident experience

Amara
EDIT: Really, this is your response? Again, proving my point. You clearly have the wrong files, because our last day was JULY 26th, 2026. I have every right to share my horrible experience with you, as I was a tenant up until only 3 weeks ago. Your horrible response to me was just the cherry on top. If you think any of this is misleading or inaccurate, then prove me wrong. I lived here for over a year. I have paid my rent early or on time every month, I have never had any lease violations, and I followed the property rules. It doesn’t matter how much of a model tenant you are, Amara does not care about you. Clearly management has tried to come in and do damage control, but I will not be silenced. Having paid my dues, I have every right to share my experience. The only saving graces of this place were Sylvia, and the maintenance team. Sylvia, if you are still there, please get out and put your talents and skills to use for a better company. DGE Investments does not care about you. To the maintenance team — thank you for always coming out to fix things in a timely manner, and for actually fixing things when you could. You are what made this experience survivable. And to Angel, I am so glad we never had the displeasure of meeting. I honestly never had the intention of posting this review, as I truly wanted my experience with your horrible complex to be water under the bridge, however the response you had to me solidified that I should warn everyone about this horrible establishment. But you’re not concerned about reviews, right? The communication between tenants and management is abhorrent. No one in that management office knows how to speak to someone professionally, or even respectfully. Every time I tried to approach someone about an issue I was having on property, I was told to “calm down”, I was told I was “making a bigger deal than it needed to be”. I was dimissed and belittled for needing things from management. Meanwhile, the management office has mixed up tenant files multiple times, failed to communicate the multiple changes in laundry services, informs us of water and cooler shut offs AFTER the water has already been turned off for non-emergency maintenance, and their plumbing projects have been going on since before we moved in. The pools have only been open for a month now, for the first time since last May. They have been randomly towing REGISTERED tenants cars before they ever started making a fuss about parking permits, and as far as I understand, they should not have been able to change any policies that were outlined in our leases without prior discussion and mutual agreement. No where in the lease that I signed does it state I need a parking permit, and my vehicles were registered and always parked appropriately on property. They care more about making sure your patio looks like you don’t even live in your apartment, because god forbid you use your patio for what it was made for. They don’t enforce the No Smoking policies that they have, as I have constantly seen other tenants smoking on property and on their patios. They are not interested in resolving tenant conflicts, and I hope that whoever moves into my unit is prepared for the worst upstairs neighbors you will ever have — I am slightly convinced it is actually a herd of elephants up there, as the ceiling fan shakes with how loud they are. And unfortunately, the place looks like crap (constantly trashed, dog poop never picked up, children running around unattended, etc.), because the other tenants don’t care — Amara has not given us much to care for. They are too focused on trying to sell a picture-perfect image that does not actually exist, rather than solve any of the real, deep-rooted issues that would make living here somehwere you can thrive, and not just survive. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General, and Amara will be investigated. Save yourself the trouble. This place should have been torn down 25 years ago. I promise you there are better places out there. I hope the city shuts this place down.
Former tenant here - office never communicate nor take concerns seriously. I beg everyone not to sign lease with this apartment complex. This apartment is built in 1970s and it had AC, mold, roaches, parking, lead, and poorly renovated issues. Save yourself headaches and time by looking somewhere else. Also this apartment contract with Kwik tow to enforce their parking policies even though they don't have enough parking spots. Parkings are randomly assigned (first come first serve) - you don't get your own parking. I see alot of tenant being towed by Kwik and asked to pay $200-$400 to retrieve their vehicle. If you care about yourself and family health - avoid this unhealthy apartment. What are you expecting from 2.7 rated apartment? Save yourself and thank me later.
I'm just going to leave a review just because. I used to live here 10 years ago and literally the same problems still exist. When we lived here it was also uneven floors .. horrible ac... mold issues etc..literally everything these tenants are naming..please believe them. These apartments should be shut down. It's a shame people try to paint over issues and do exterior updates but leave the main issues untouched. These apartments are severely outdated and are horrible for your health. Please don't fall for the pretty pictures online. We left back then because of a severe mold issue. This place is all bad and someone needs to take over here and do the right thing. The issues are too deep to keep painting over.
PLEASE READ if you are interested in Amara Apartments. The price for these apartments appears lucrative, as well as the 1 month free incentive HOWEVER, the cons far outweigh any pros the price may offer. These apartments are outdated and old. As such, you will not have in unit laundry. There are three facilities on sight. Washers don’t always work: they either eat your money and don’t wash the clothes, don’t rinse your clothes so they are sopping wet, or won’t take tap to pay. There have been issues with people in the complex stealing other people’s clothes. Units also don’t have access to both A/C and heat at the same time. During designated summer months, chillers will be turned on so you only have A/C. Vice versa in the winter, chillers are turned off and you only have heat. It does not matter if there is an abnormally warm winter or if in February and March it is hot. You will have to deal with no A/C until the apartment decides to switch over. Water is frequently turned off in this facility. And I mean CONSTANTLY turned off. Pipes have been worked on for months and are still continuing to be fixed. Electricity also goes out often. WiFi goes out often as well. If you have a work from home job that requires you to plug into the internet directly, this place is too outdated and doesn’t have a router/outlet capable of doing so. 2 day inspection notices are sent out for management to be able to come and inspect units. 8am-5pm time windows are given and they don’t show up until late afternoon. Last time this was done, management never came at all. There are HUGE roaches throughout the property. If you live in a bottom unit, good luck. Dog poop is everywhere. They state there is a fine if dog poop isn’t picked up, but there is no enforcement to this. Trash is also everywhere. Parking is a nightmare. There never seems to be enough parking by the end of the day. Front office is not responsive and communicative. Neither is maintenance. Please please consider this review with the other negative reviews before signing a lease here
