Many people have had unpleasant experiences when trying to obtain information by calling and Ive heard multiple accounts of this however as someone who has stayed in this building for nearly 3 years my experience was positive enough to warrant a review The rent is inexpensive for its location and size other apartments nearby with the same price do not include utilities like this one does 25month for bachelors and 30month for 1 bedrooms for hydro The bachelor room I rented included a separate kitchen and large bathroom which were both more appealing than other small rooms with an open kitchen near the couch or bed Additionally the rooftop deck allowed me to read while waiting on my laundry there are onsite facilities here Repairs were completed promptly when needed even before expected at times While some of the employees in the rental office werent always helpful my landlord was quick to respond and provide help if necessary In conclusion if youre searching for an affordable place downtown then this is a good option more ... hide ...

I have called 170 Lees Avenue in Ottawa home for 16 years having moved into the 1bedroom unit before it was renovated Through this experience I am able to provide an honest evaluation of the building When I initially moved in it was in a poor condition cockroaches were everywhere and the apartments were run down and dirty Despite these issues I stayed due to its inexpensive rent as I was a student at the time The following year saw extensive renovations which removed crumbling balconies and extended each rooms size they also replaced all of the old carpeting and flooring with ceramic tiling as well as new tinted casement windows that upgraded many kitchens and bathrooms New management brought further changes such as new flooring lighting and aesthetic upgrades within the lobbyhallways some floors are still undergoing work Brand new elevators from 201819 replaced those from 1960s which always broke down while 2020 saw an upgrade to its power supply so that elevators garage doors and hall lights would remain on during power outages This led to a decrease in roaches from bad to virtually nonexistent for me personally no one here has ever had bedbugs either if they did acquire them elsewhere then brought them into their units themselves just like what happened with government buildings at one point last year according to news reportsDespite negative reviews of this building floating around online there are many positive aspects worth mentioning such as friendly residents along with more ... hide ...

The neighborhood is decent and peaceful with only rare buses passing by causing sound The apartments are spacious with a lot of storage space and the views from above the fifteenth floor are beautiful The neighbors are mostly quiet except for some exceptions However if you live below the fifteenth floor or have an apartment facing inwards there will be another building right in front of you Additionally LRT construction has been an issue with its noise and dust yet keeping windows shut helps to minimize it Unfortunately the management team doesnt seem too concerned about tenant issues for example renovation was done on all balconies and sides of building this springsummer with extreme noise and dust that lasted from 8am5pm daily for months without warning when I moved in two months prior or compensationrent reduction offered which left me unable to escape this unbearable situation due to Covid closures having serious mental health effects as a result of isolation Even minor problems like concrete peeking through paint were brushed off with its an old building On the other hand more serious accidents such as leaking pipes were fixed quickly along with fixing most damage caused by them To sum up its not slums but due to management teams treatment it is not worth what were paying for more ... hide ...
