I have had the misfortune of renting at this place and it is by far the worst They overcharge for parking double up on pet deposits and rent and try to enforce professional carpet cleaning which is against the Residential Tenancy Act Many people have fallen prey to this unlawful charge You are allowed to clean the carpets yourself I took my complaint to the RTA board and won The appliances they provide are old and barely functioning its supposed to be a nonsmoking building yet their own maintenance man smokes in his suite making it reek of cigarettes on the second floor I felt unsafe after a possible tenant harassed me when I was taking out garbage all management said was thank you for not letting him into the garbage room No further action was taken Theres almost no visitor parking since most spots are taken by residents who don't want to pay 3035 monthly fee for one spot they threaten with tow but nothing happens The parking lot is also dangerous due lack of safety signs or common sense from drivers merging two lanes without paying any attention something Management could easily fix with a sign but simply doesnt care We were paying nearly 1300month for a two bedroom which we couldnt even enjoy due inconsiderate neighbours stomping on floors plus embarrassing poorly managed appliances so beware renters look elsewhere for better accommodations If I could give negative stars I would more ... hide ...

The Galas response to my review was extreme they called the police who told me they didnt need to come by Harassment Ive never encountered worse realty management Ashley Kane was completely incompetent when I lost my keys including the keyless FOB It took me at least 3 weeks of constant contact before they agreed to meet me and replace them then they locked my door with the keys in their office forcing me to stay in my car Theyve misplaced my rent payments twice and I had to pay a lawyer and extra fees for new drafts both times In April they charged me 405 more than due which took about a week to track down Kane no one is ever at the leasing office for this 3 building complex She apologized but never actually debited it from my next months rent as promised instead she mailed out a cheque and on May 1st after I put in a certified draft with all information included I received a default notice accusing me of being late plus late fees When I contacted Kane again she accused ME of harassing her staff The complex has been on sale for 4 years now and AVISON YOUNG has been buying up land for industrial property nearby there have been many breakins too which are only given short term security solutions until it dies down again Of the three buildings only one allows pets but none smoking even outside on balconies which is why I wont renew There are no more ... hide ...

Do not live here The rent is too high for the size and quality of the apartment and there are other issues as well When we signed our lease they promised us storage cages and bike racks but after my partners bike was stolen they said that was never promised We ended up having to put both bikes in our tiny one bedroom apartment due to lack of storage space all of our belongings were crammed into one wardrobe During summer the heat was unbearable even with a fan going all day We lived above a new boxing studio on 9th Ave and were woken up early every morning until they finally did something about it though it wasnt much help It took almost two months to get our microwave fixed too In JanuaryFebruary 19 storage cages were built which werent enough for the whole building these went unused till we left in April My experience is similar to another review about how terrible the public hallways were save your money and look elsewhere more ... hide ...

Van the office manager has been incredibly accommodating I lived in Osgood Building for over a year and Van has certainly been of great assistance He has an opendoor policy and is always willing to listen and solve any problem that arises His positive attitude and receptiveness make him a pleasure to be around If I ever move back to Calgary renting from Van 2022-10-22T11:32:17Z

The apartments are in great condition and the rental staff is friendly and helpful so I highly recommend it because the prices are reasonable Though some of the neighbors can be quite loud luckily the walls are thick enough that you wont hear them unless youre in the hallways Im really happy living here

My girlfriend and I resided at this place for two years and every review posted here is accurate Its unbearably hot in summertime since the central AC only works in the hallways thus you must open your front door to get some cooling if you want it The window opens very little which makes it hard to install a portable AC The walls are thin so you can hear your neighbors all around you Underground parking is often broken into due to being near homeless shelters my car was stolen once and its on the tenants responsibility Plus there are sometimes homeless sleeping in the lobby or stairs based on my personal experience Lastly there is an extremely slow elevator and no storage space provided as a result of that fact your place will always look messy Furthermore building managerinspectors are very strict with move out inspections theyll replace whatever things that arent aesthetically pleasing for the next tenants even though it may be wear tear and charge for them too We stayed here two years because we had a pet but eventually left because of how hot summers were every resident agrees with what was said here as not many people last more than one year in this building If you decide to live here after reading all this warning good luck more ... hide ...

For the four and a half years I lived at Montesino Place I had four different managers The first was an exgirlfriend who sadly passed away and her departure from the position remains unexplained The last two were overly controlling and attempted to interfere with my life as well as that of other tenants For example they demanded everyone record their locker number or else One day the manager even came into my suite without permission to take pictures all over the place they also complained about boxes I had neatly stored on my living room table When I left to visit friends in Vancouver during summertime maintenance staff shut off power to my unit without warning which caused serious discomfort due to a lack of air conditioning or refrigeratorfreezer use for many hours until police arrived on scene and restored it Additionally when I returned from an extended stay elsewhere following prostate surgery management attempted to reprimand me for using a locker without permission something that wasnt even feasible since there was only one available at any given time In another instance where my father visited while recovering from quadruple bypass heart surgery they tried telling him he couldnt park in front of building even lecturing him on residential tenancy law when he already knew more than them In conclusion be very cautious before renting property under DKLA Weeb Property Group also registered under IMW Contractors After everything I experienced here at Montesino Place now finally having a safe place to sleep peacefully is more ... hide ...

The Cedar Green Apartments have become a joke since the fire that led to the firing of the old manager and hiring of a new one The rent is constantly rising they refuse to fix up our current suite and instead offer us a renovated suite for 1550 per month with no amenities included Hydro in the building is outrageous paying 300 every two months for a twobedroom apartment and after the old manager left our hydro bill dropped to 85 The renovated suites are losing counter space to make room for an extra kitchen entrance which isn't necessary additionally they are replacing laminate flooring and putting in dishwashers in all suites something we were told was impossible when we first moved in four years ago due to plumbing being too old Water pressure has been cut down significantly as well don't even think about drinking tap water as it contains too many minerals After leaving CLR in it overnight I still couldnt get rid of all the lime and calcium buildup from just one months use To top it off asbestos dust from another building being rebuilt is blown over into our garbage cans which puts tenants and neighbors at risk of exposure The new manager supposedly works from 10am2pm weekdays but has only been here around four times each visit lasting only two hours since the fire his relief manager does most of his work for him now Welcome to Cedar Green Apartments nothing gets fixed rent keeps climbing oh yeah watch out for more ... hide ...
