Sturgeon Point Villas SPV in St Albert is the crown jewel among Boardwalk apartments Ive lived in over the years including a townhouse coach home and four story apartment Its architecture is quite unique each unit has at least one exterior wall with a 45 degree angle and windows to match The complex gets great exposure with NE E SE and southern views and some units can get warm in summertimeIm extremely pleased with my unit it was clean upon movein has a professional paint job with no runs or clumpy spots plus a glass top electric range stove and newer fridge though theres no dishwasher The bathroom is small but beautifully appointed with large white wall tile and light gray floor tile plus the added bonus of a right height toilet The complex offers plenty of amenities like parking for 10 per month some partially covered pet allowance for two animals at 25month each access to walkingbike trails along the Sturgeon River plus nearby stores like Hudson Bay London Canadian Tire and Safeway to name just a few There are lots of eating areas too including Earls McDonalds KFC Arbys DQ Tim Hortons etc Plus theyre renovating common hallwaysreception vestibules replacing fire breaks between buildings changing out cement steps as needed adding gym equipment for residents use AND theres even daycareIn sum Sturgeon Point more ... hide ...

The worst experience living in this residence was when I lived there for a year A tenant beside us was smoking both cigarettes and marijuana which is against the smokefree and petfree policy imposed by their bylaw After making multiple complaints to their One Click Fix useless I spoke with Johanne from the management She said she would give them a 14 day eviction notice but 30 days later nothing had been done It turned out that one roommate we had an issue with moved from one apartment to the other since they all were friends and management took no action on resolving the situation We called One Click Fix again but it did nothing so then we contacted ByLaw who arrived 3 hours later when nobody was home Now Im calling police because enough is enough I wouldnt recommend this apartmentcompany to anyone I know more ... hide ...

My first time renting was certainly a memorable experience though not in a good way The building had nice finishes but the management left much to be desired We rented a three bedroom unit that felt smaller than expected the third bedroom lacked a window which Im sure isn't up to fire safety regulations There wasnt even room for a dining area in the master bedroom and while the balcony was large it seemed like some of that space could have been better used inside As part of our agreement we were responsible for changing light bulbs we had to replace at least 8 in our first year Plus our air conditioner didnt start working until almost the end of our lease After multiple requests for help from management it turned out there was an issue with the drainage line not being connected Parking in the underground lot was convenient but inconveniently jammed when two or more vehicles were trying to come and go at once same went for the elevator which often needed repairs Additionally we heard children making noise around us all day and night plus pets despite rules being against them not to mention multiple instances of faulty fire alarms going off during sleep hours Lastly upon moving out I had no receipt of my damage deposit until 1 month later when I contacted them again they had sent it to my old address despite me already having vacated Needless to say Id rent there again if only management provided better service more ... hide ...

We decided to give the year we lived here 4 stars as 3 wasnt quite fair The management was excellent when we had two leaking pipes and a heating problem during the holidays it was fixed promptly Even though there were bed bugs when our lease was almost over a professional exterminator came a week after we requested it The manager wasnt overly polite but got 2022-09-09T20:32:16Z
We decided to give the year we lived here 4 stars as 3 wasnt quite fair The management was excellent when we had two leaking pipes and a heating problem during the holidays it was fixed promptly Even though there were bed bugs when our lease was almost over a professional exterminator came a week after we requested it The manager wasnt overly polite but got the job done efficiently Most of our neighbours were decent people but after 6 months someone moved in who caused problems with sketchy people coming in and out of the building even finding a dirty knife in the hallway and an intoxicated drug user on the stairs However this stopped after some evictions and police calls You can learn to like this area Coliseum station is bad especially in winter yet youre close to LRT and other buses eg 8 104 102 In front of our building is a library with free books computers etc whilst across from us is 7Eleven for late night needs Theres Joy Ho for Asian food cravings plus Paraiso Tropical Latin market Kasoa African market etc Mona Lisa barpub for watching hockeybeerhamburgers too Furthermore supermarkets such as Freshco No Frills are just 5 minutes away on bus not forgetting Fatimas Brazilian grocery store where vegetables eggs dairy are cheapest yet highest quality Last but not least religious facilities such as churches or mosques are available nearby along with 2 more ... hide ...
