Avoid Starlight owned buildings at all costs Theyve been overly expensive since taking over and the rent for a 1 bedroom near the top of the building went from 1200month in 2018 to 1700month when I moved back in 2020 The parking fee which wasnt included with the high rental rate has risen from 30month to an unbelievable 90month and street parking is always full for some unknown reason The building is located somewhere remote making it necessary to have a car Only three employees are taking care of two large buildings there used to be six workers which was more appropriate The renovations they did were just cheap cosmetic changes they even put a new cover on an old bathroom fan while leaving its loud 70s parts underneath The hood fan blows smoke into the kitchen and the smoke detectors are too sensitive so cooking becomes difficult without setting them off The heating system is falling apart its covers are either missing or damaged plus its electric valve doesnt close up when its supposed to so theres only two modes on and more on As for windows single payne aluminum frames with rotted out gaskets that let bugs inside make for terrible insulation efficiency Sliding glass doors are decrepit as well as blinds that can hardly open due to being jammed up or brittle yellowed plastic pieces Elevators breaking down often has trapped 10 people in one year alone not
