I had a fouryear stay at The View giving me an indepth view of the place It is a good location for graduate students with decent amenities and reasonable rent for the area During my doctorate I didnt feel like I had to relocate In State College when it comes to rentals youre in a nowin situation so on the entire this is an okay spot to live However I faced lots of problems with management The front desk staff were always polite yet every year when lease renewal came around there would be issues with the pet addendum and also during roommate transition when they would harass me via phoneemail that my cats needed to be moved within 48 hours or else eviction was imminent which was extremely disturbing on multiple levels eventually theyd adjust their error but they never gave me a sincere apology or tried making up for the mistake due to being an extended responsible tenant Similarly each summer during roommate transition Id get emails about how unsuitable the apartment condition was for new roommates and that I had 24 hours to fix it without any info as to what errors were present Also at moveout time charges were enforced weeks before expiration of lease and even though they got paperwork evidencing pet rent payment etc still no verification from office side All in all The View is alright if you can deal with its dysfunctional unprofessional management which applies everywhere in State College more ... hide ...

When I toured a two bedroom furnished apartment at Westside Village I asked if the rent would increase in the following year They said it wouldnt and encouraged me to sign a lease quickly After signing I found out online that the rent was going up by 1000 They hadnt even called to tell me On top of this they had said they would move some furniture but when I called after signing the lease they wouldnt and made it my responsibility to move and store any furniture Upon moving in there were issues no keys worked so someone had to escort me in with a master key and call a locksmith for a new one The dining tablechairs that were promised werent there either their excuse was that the maintenance guy quit so they couldnt fire him like firing him during a pandemic would help The furnitureheaters were dusty too and needed cleaning additionally there was peeling vinyl flooring in kitchenbathrooms as well as uneven flooring between living roomkitchen which caused boxes being dropped during moveinWestside Villages services are subpar at costly prices like buying an nice car from an unreliable dealership To future tenants be careful when dealing with them make sure anything promised is put on paper signed by all parties involved My security deposit got taken for something done months prior no itemized receipt or communication from management about any expenses so more reviews will be posted more ... hide ...
