Living in the same place for two years has brought many regulations. Stipulations that are not written in the lease can be found at the door. For example, I have to pay extra for a parking lot for 12 months, even though the underground one is completely empty; $500 per year more from THICK IN LIFE. As if this isn't bad enough, 8 months ago my car's plastic was broken twice due to potholes in the lot. Additionally, I cannot put a canvas on my balcony because it would be seen as visual pollution and I am stuck with a fire alarm that goes off weekly and an old bathroom with black mold grout - yet it is still usable. When smoking on our balcony we must be aware of those near us who may open their windows and be affected by the odor; if you don't want this hassle then move out!

Where do I even begin? We applied for an apartment in Ch¢teaugay two years ago and our two cats were accepted. Within a few months, the toilet broke and leaked water into the unit below, but it only made a small puddle. The insurer said there was no way that the apartment downstairs was flooded. Unfortunately, we have been bullied since then; there is often a lack of hot water and sometimes even no water at all. The elevators are always breaking down at least once a month and the fire alarms go off for nothing! The secretary has been unpleasant to us - she told my spouse she would never have allowed us to move in if she had known about my depression, followed me twice to the laundry room via surveillance cameras, didn't take responsibility when cars were parked in our lot (even though we paid for parking), and said it wasn't sensible to keep cats here when I signed the lease (even though THEY accepted them!). There's always marijuana smell coming from next door's balcony so we can't open our windows in summer; mice in lower cabinets; noise from repairs or neighbours...and you must pay for EVERYTHING - parking, storage..even just locking your bike!
