My husband and I have been living in Evanston Place for the past 5 months. I'm a grad student at Northwestern, he's a working professional. We enjoy the location but have had numerous issues with management and maintenance which make it hard to really appreciate the place. The rent is too high for what you get, so if you can afford better options then I'd recommend reconsidering living here. A few highlights: our washer/dryer unit broke down for a month before it was fixed; communication from both building staff and maintenance personnel about progress was poor, requiring us to follow-up multiple times; we had to use the communal laundry room in the hall while this issue was going on, but management reimbursed us; one of the south tower elevators has been broken since October, with staff initially saying it would be 2-3 weeks before repair then later changing this estimate to 6-8 weeks - now they're saying maybe early January; walls are very thin so we often hear noise from our neighbor including their birthday party at midnight!; finally, heating/cooling system doesn't allow AC during winter or heat during summer - this became an issue when there were 70+ degree days in October as our unit still remained uncomfortably hot even wiMy husband and I have been living in Evanston Place for the past 5 months.
