Today I received a cease and desist of defamation letter from Yekooche First Nation in regards to this review. Defamation is the act of communicating false statements about someone that results in harm, which is why I am happy to edit this review with an accurate representation of the truth. I had been hired by the Yekooche First Nation employment team as their ECE manager; the reserve itself was very nice and full of potential. After a few weeks there, I was fired with a termination letter stating that I had to "leave without event". The closing also required me to keep confidential all personal and business information, not contact any community members, and not make defamatory comments - something that stirred up my confusion since it's never been asked of me before nor have I signed such a restrictive confidentiality agreement while working in education. However, during my short time there, some people became close friends who inspired me - like one teenager who clung to any chance at learning. Ultimately she moved back with me to Ontario so we could provide her more opportunities; unfortunately when she arrived she didn't even know what her 5 senses were or basic facts we take for granted like smoking/drinking during pregnanc more ...
