Having lived in these buildings for a dozen years, there isn't much positive to say about the experience. Initially, the building managers seemed responsive, friendly and genuinely good people. However, following that first year everything changed; competent managers were replaced by a couple who ran it like their own little kingdom - demanding rent in cash on the second of each month and making threatening phone calls in response to work orders. Moreover, they blamed repairs on new tenants and Homestead didn't take action despite receiving multiple complaints because it saved them money by never spending a dime on the place. The current managers are just as hard to deal with. They don't address serious issues such as mouldy windows or loose carpets but we suspect one of them was entering our unit uninvited and going through our stuff - mainly electronics and drawers. Additionally, they spread lies about me having "anger issues". Other problems include getting rent receipts yearly being a hassle; parking situation is mismanaged; elevators bring you to wrong floor often; doors won't move due to poor wheelchair devices; pool (pre-COVID) not cleaned well or opened/closed randomly; COVID/leash policies not enforced at all... My advice: avoid these buildings unless you have no other choice particularly considering how much they're charging for rent now - double what I paid for an apartment that's nowhere near worth it! more ... hide ...
