Be warned: this place is cockroach-infested! I had planned on taking possession of the apartment over a long weekend, but was asked to move in at the end of the week so they could paint a wall. When I arrived, however, I found that the entire apartment was filled with cockroaches! It turned out that Boardwalk had not been honest about their reasons for asking me to delay moving in; instead of painting a wall, they were attempting to buy time so that they could try and exterminate without telling me. This is not only a breach of contract by not fully disclosing all information about the property; it also poses a serious health risk which has been confirmed by AHA. Despite claiming their rentals are clean, well kept and safe with up-to-date health codes, Boardwalk's main concern is money – they will do anything or say anything to trap you, even if it means putting people's livelihood and health at risk. Do yourself a favour and don't rent from them: it's just not worth it!

In June, I signed the lease for a new apartment which my girlfriend and I were eager about. Sadly, we experienced bug bites less than a month after moving in. We are clean people who did not bring these nuisances with us; at first we did not even think they were bedbugs because we never actually saw them. When we asked if there was any bedbug infestation in the building and ought to be concerned, they told us an untruth and that became our last straw. To break the lease, I had to fight as they wanted me to pay $2,700. After much debate, I managed to have this fee dropped but their communication with me was poor all along. Even now that I have already moved out three months ago - they are still demanding $150 for an electricity bill from when I initially signed the lease but hadn't yet moved in fully; although it totaled only $37! This truly made me angry since during final inspection the landlord said that room had been "cleared" of bedbugs beforehand while multiple other rooms were given pest notices with no actions being taken to stop its spread - zero stars from me! Never would rent from Boardwalk ever again!
