Residents are causing a disturbance in this neighborhood; it's 10:21 pm and they're revving their cars and doing burnouts on the second floor of the parking garage. They also let their dogs "use" our lawns as a toilet without picking up after them. In addition, they're parking in the NO STOPPING Zone in front of the building on First St which has already caused accidents and close calls. It's expected that something will be done when one of them is killed, but that's not doing much to help the situation now. Property management said there'd be 24/7 security, yet this only seems to take place from 9am-4pm during weekdays—not when problems happen! Cameras have been installed, but are they being used? The property management is profiting off tenants yet not considering how this affects other community members; if another building is built beside it, who knows what could happen?
The Foundry is located in a highly accessible area for Fanshawe students, with the 4, 17, 20, 36 and 91 bus routes right outside the building. The management is friendly but they have been known to be somewhat critical in their work. Unfortunately, the elevator occasionally gets stuck and they are not allowed to assist anyone stuck inside. Sometimes the laundry machines fail to function properly and still take money when one taps on its sensor; additionally, the garbage chute may malfunction during weekdays which leaves residents having to dispose of their trash in a designated room. The lighting in rooms is dim making it difficult for students studying there to concentrate without causing eye strain. Parking spots at The Foundry are limited as well as no longer having a canteen on the ground floor. Overall this student-friendly place has some minor issues that could potentially be addressed if given attention.
Before I even begin my review, have a look at all the five star reviews from suspicious accounts which all say the same thing: "great for school and work, accessible gym, super convenient, well furnished, quiet...." These reviews were made by the company in order to make it appear as 4 stars; I'm calling them out. Nobody creates Google accounts without profile pictures and only leave one review mentioning what their business is advertising. I stayed here for a year and had three different rooms. To put it plainly, save $200 per month and get a room in Thurman Circle that provides the same experience as this place does. Thefts have occurred here; I've been subject to loud noise, smoking in the building has been witnessed by me, lazy staff members are present at Foundry First Apartments too plus garbage everywhere with bugs crawling around is what I had to endure during my stay here.
In my initial room there were two roommates who disrupted peace with loud noises till 4am some nights; they left garbage wherever they felt like (even on walls) which can be seen in an image provided if they didn't try erasing it ,and smoked/vaped inside common areas besides harassing me constantly. After complaining to their management several times (Before I even begin my review, have a look at all the five star reviews from suspicious accounts which all say the same thing: "great for school and work, accessible gym, super convenient, well furnished, quiet...."
