For two years, we've called this residence home and are now transitioning to a larger suite. The location is excellent, with a bike/walking path nearby and St. Vital Mall accessible within five minutes. Rent is affordable and the building manager (Elvis) is incredibly efficient; any maintenance issues that arise are usually resolved in a day or two. He was helpful when explaining things to us and made the move effortless.

This location is close to the mall, however it has deteriorated over the years. People have been firing guns out of windows and smashing cars with bottles. One time I was standing by my window when someone threw a bag of flour out of a different window, yet a passerby immediately blamed me for it. The cops were called but no investigation was done; I wasn't even in possession of any flour! I asked the manager if there were cameras monitoring the parking lot so that I could be cleared, but none existed. Every night there is loud banging and footsteps throughout the building due to poor sound barriers in walls and ceilings. Parties happen frequently so sleeping is often impossible. The price here may be too high compared to what you get, but this problem is ubiquitous now. The tap water has orange flakes in it so boiling and straining your water if you plan on drinking it is necessary since everyone shares it; additionally, showers will occasionally change temperature unexpectedly during use because of bad ventilation system-you can even smell cigarette smoke from other apartments through hollow walls! Furthermore, elevators tend to break down often as well.
