Management appears to not be taking any action at this moment. It has already been two months since I submitted a maintenance request to repair the outlet in my kitchen, yet nothing has been done. Furthermore, bugs and ants make their way into my apartment during summer through cracks in the outside wall, despite me informing management twice. Even some of the floor panels are becoming loose; however management simply says that it's just how these fake wood panels act. The windows lack insulation which causes all of my warm air to escape and makes it impossible for my apartment to get cooler than 25 degrees after June. Management acknowledges that there is an issue with the AC but insists that it is working as intended. Additionally, no maintenance guy seems to stay in this building for more than a year; always somebody new every once in a while. All of these issues are such a shame because the building itself is great along with its amenities and location; yet better management should be expected given how expensive renting here is.
Living in the 1855 Bloor building for the past 4 years has been an unbearable experience and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. I'm looking for a place that is within my budget and has better living conditions, as this one does not cater to its tenants. The air conditioning is often turned off way before it should be, causing temperatures inside my unit to rise up to 28 degrees celsius. Comparatively, my mom's condo in Mississauga still has its air conditioning running while ours doesn't - so why are they shutting ours off earlier? When raising complaints with management all I ever get is excuses but no solutions. To add insult to injury, their cheap attitude also affects facility closures; the pool closes extra early too. All in all, these poor facilities make living conditions insufferable - don't move here!
