I lived at Brownlofts during the 2017-18 school year as it was close to medical school, and the property manager Kylee was quick to respond and take care of issues. The 1 bedroom apartments are nice with stainless steel appliances and plenty of space, but their price doesn't quite match up with the amenities compared to nearby apartments – such as in-unit laundry and exercise facilities. I wasn't expecting not to receive my entire security deposit back despite spending hours cleaning before moving out. Another tenant experienced a similar problem; they were charged for two hours cleaning despite thoroughly cleaning before leaving. Furthermore, when I moved in there was dirt on the carpet that hadn't been vacuumed. Brownlofts is popular among undergraduates which leads to noise during weekends and messes left behind - like vomit outside the elevator entrance. To top it off, there were issues with air conditioning that no amount of maintenance requests could fix until just prior to move out when my electricity bill shot up over 150 dollars from its normal 30 dollar charge due to this issue not being addressed until then. All in all, Brownlofts is livable but if you're looking for something without unexpected costs I'd suggestI lived at Brownlofts during the 2017-18 school year as it was close to medical school, and the property manager Kylee was quick to respond and take care of issues.
