Having my apartment's bathroom ceiling collapse was a huge shock, and luckily I wasn't present when it happened. Despite the large hole in the ceiling, sewage on the floor, and other damage, I was asked to stay in the apartment that night. After refusing to comply without threatening to get a lawyer and turn to Tenancy Board for help, they finally provided me with an alternate place of residence. However, after two weeks of meetings at the home office with no resolution or action taken by staff (who were beyond rude), I had no choice but to turn to Tenancy Board - upon which point maintenance personnel proceeded to yell at me worse than any other staff member previously had. This was easily the worst rental experience of my life; thankfully, however, caretakers of the building were actually kind people who seemed genuinely concerned.

The resident manager was great, but since she doesn't live in the building like they advertise, when the fire alarm goes off we have to wait for her to get here from out of town. Maintenance never came to fix anything and left us for three months with a toilet spraying like Old Faithful all over the walls and ceiling every time we flushed it. The renovations were done so cheaply that the door doesn't close properly and the frame is falling off. When we tried to sublet our last month, they said we'd have to sublet for a year and a month. All in all, this rental company is terrible; I'm glad I'm leaving it!
