My stay at Apartments R Us on 1158 Yates St this past summer was not a great one. It took me three days of driving from Ontario to get there, and when I arrived the room wasn't ready so I had to sleep in a hotel. My blinds were broken and it took over three months and thirty emails/texts just to get my landlord's attention and get them fixed. If you're looking for a furnished studio apartment that costs over $1500/month with cheap IKEA furniture and dollar store kitchen items, this is your place. The landscaping doesn't seem to be maintained either; grass was never cut or flowers watered while all the other apartments in the area had immaculate landscaping. On top of that, they don't even let you smoke outside or anywhere on the property – not even your own balcony! On the plus side, this apartment is in a great location close to downtown, grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants etc., plus it's pet-friendly so dogs are allowed which isn't always easy to find in Victoria.
