Rent elsewhere! My girlfriend and her five year old son live at Windmill Place apartments, and it has been a horrible experience. Their air conditioning has been broken for more than two months during the hottest times in Sacramento. When she asked them to fix the air, they said it was "very expensive" and that they were just looking at estimates. After finally getting a work order, workers showed up a day early and only removed the ceiling before putting down a tarp—without moving any of their personal belongings like combs, toothbrushes or jewelry—and leaving the attic exposed to 100-degree weather. The workers then gave a four-day work order but failed to show up either Thursday or Friday; when they did come Monday, they still hadn't finished covering the ceiling or fixed any of her belongings damaged by debris from removal of the panels. On top of all this, an electric bill suddenly became hundreds more than usual due to running an offered portable AC unit while working! The manager hasn't done anything to help either; after blocking my girlfriend on messenger (the way they communicate), she still hasn't returned my call asking what kind of business contracted this work with such little regard for residents' home Rent elsewhere!
