256 Philip Street, Waterloo has terrible wifi service. Despite writing to the support team, they do not seem to be able to fix it. The wifi router is located in the ground floor and is shared among all the 21 floors with wifi extenders-- an arrangement that clearly won't work. Moreover, they do not allow anyone to install their own home internet connection nor are there any ethernet ports available for wired connections. The Coinamatic coin laundry system has washers that are extremely small and whether or not it works depends on luck alone--there is no money back guarantee if a washer does not work. When I moved in, the room was in terrible condition; I complained but nothing changed so I had no choice but live there for four months as I had already paid and had nowhere else to go (pictures attached). This commentary comes from my own personal experience; hopefully people can use this information when deciding where to spend their money for needed services.
Rez-one is the best heat-preserving structure that can be found in Waterloo. Its genius designer created apartments that can maintain a room temperature of 29 degrees Celsius, even when it's 18 degrees outside. If you wish to do something for a carbon neutral tomorrow, get a full year lease here! The company has been dedicated to reducing carbon emissions by not turning on the AC cooling as promised in summer and disabling the heating system for Fergus House during winter. Additionally, they made the apartments airtight despite opening windows; no air flow comes through even when trees are bending from strong gales before thunderstorms. This is an excellent way to commemorate WWI! Every morning at 8:30 am, construction noises from next to Blair House, Fergus House and Hespeler House will surely wake you up if you're fond of morning classes. Rez-one truly is the BEST apartment option in UW region!
Though they claim they turned on AC on May 26th, I measured several different AC outlets and found that only 19 degrees was being cooled by one located in the corridor; all other outlets were simply giving back what was already present in the room. Believe it or not, these structures managed to keep temperatures inside at 28 degrees daysRez-one is the best heat-preserving structure that can be found in Waterloo. Believe it or not, these structures managed to keep temperatures inside at 28 degrees days prior when it was only 2 outside - without activating heating systems throughout winter - and still met their 20 degree goal.more ...hide ...
