In January of 2019, I moved in and things were alright until the beginning of 2022. The main issue was the lack of parking but the onsite management team handled it swiftly. Now that Old Oak has reduced/eliminated most of its teams (including Joe and Christine), wait times for repairs and maintenance have increased drastically. Oftentimes, I end up googling solutions to repair problems myself because waiting weeks at a time is not an option. Tenants are viewed as a nuisance rather than customers; Old Oak is solely after our monthly rent payments with no intention to hear from us again. From 2017-2022, I would tell everyone that they were the best rental company in London, however now this is not something I can say anymore which is unfortunate.
Do not sign a lease with Old Oak Properties! Their new property management is terrible and they have changed their policy without informing anyone. For example, they will only book the elevator on service during regular business hours Monday to Friday, which is different from the arrangements made with Christine in March. When complaints were given to the new property manager and their boss, Old Oak replied with a "too bad" attitude. The company values stated on their site are nothing more than an empty promise; they don't care about their tenants – only that they are getting paid each month. You will be content until you need something from them, then you'll see their true colours.
Living in Hyde Park, managed by Old Oak Properties, is not the luxurious experience they advertise. Many have complained about how hot the units get and management does nothing to help until it's too late. Even though there are city laws concerning temperature, it's unbearable during summer and management doesn't seem to care. In wintertime there isn't much maintenance done and tenants have fallen due to sidewalks being icy. There aren't enough parking spots for everyone so people are always fighting over them. Management changes often and their after-hours system does not take complaints seriously. As a result, many tenants are looking for other places to live; if you want luxury living don't rent here because it's not worth the money you will pay in rent.
