In JULY 2022, I urge everyone to steer clear of Haley due to the poor living conditions. Construction has been ongoing for 17 months despite promises that it would be complete in one week. The noise and dust has been unbearable and there have been multiple issues with rodents, heat not working during winter storms, and the building being evacuated. We pay for an underground parking lot which we haven't had access to all winter due to construction - similarly, half of the building isn't allowed on their own balconies also because of construction. To make matters worse, a construction worker let himself into my apartment at 7:15 AM unannounced while I was naked! This was reported but no apology or action was taken. Additionally, someone left a threatening note on my husband's car after he had permission to park there for lunch. The washing machines are constantly breaking down (only 4 out 8 are working) despite multiple requests for maintenance. All these issues have taken a toll on our health and many other tenants feel the same way as us - however nothing changes no matter how much we report our concerns about Killam management.

I've been living in Spring Garden Terrace for two months now and this is my first experience having my own apartment. The leasing agent (Haley, I think was her name) was very helpful in setting up a viewing and answering any questions I had about the building or leasing process. The response time to my one maintenance request by Martin was great - within an hour! I think the pricing for this neighbourhood is fair; 1100+ utilities for a studio isn't bad, plus units and building are nicely updated. No pests have made it here so far, which as a first-time downtown resident is reassuring. Garbage disposal is easy and common areas are clean. Pool and outdoor green spaces are nice touches too! My only complaints are that noise from construction can begin at 9am which can be an issue if you work late hours like me (sometimes after midnight). Also, there's occasionally cigarette smoke coming from the apartment across the hall because someone doesn't take their cigarettes outside. Despite these two minor annoyances, Spring Garden Terrace has been overall a very desirable place to live!
