Inquiry & Reviews of The 2250 Guy Apartments

We resided in this building for a year. Professionals working downtown would love the location of it. The maintenance staff were friendly and helpful, and the managers, though hard to contact at times, did their job well. Despite its age, one should be ready for any issues that may arise; during our time there we had multiple power outages, two water shutdowns due to plumbing problems, two heating shutdowns during winter as well as cockroach issues. Weighing up the pros of the perfect location against these dramas is a trade off that must be made.

Don't waste your time living here. Even though it was great being close to downtown and friends, it's just not worth it. The other bad reviews are right: it's noisy, filthy, smelly, construction inside, roaches everywhere (despite treatments). My apartment flooded once because of a neighbor's pipes and damaged my stuff. Fire alarms going off weekly at least and broken elevators/power outages were common as well. They kept coming in to check on things they could improve for the next tenant despite not fixing them for me - so annoying! Although the location is nice and city noise doesn't bother me much, think twice before you make a commitment! I had fond memories since this was my first solo apartment but trust me - don't do it!

I would not suggest renting from CAPREIT, especially in this building. Bugs and roaches are rampant in every level, as reflected by the reviews, indicating a significant problem that is being neglected. Despite multiple treatments, there has been no improvement. Noise isolation is poor; everything can be heard from trash being tossed out at any hour to the alarm ringing randomly during the day or night. The heating system is antiquated and doesn't keep your apartment warm during winter months. There's no privacy either as there's always something happening; never any peace or quiet. To get anything done with management involves much effort on your part yet if they're making requests of you they expect it to happen without delay otherwise you may suffer consequences (i.e., lease renewal and administrative fees). Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place!
