When talking about "peace of mind" for a parent in care, it sounds simple and easy. However, after my Dad passed away, my Mom - in her mid 80s - residing in a wonderful 40+ community, was left extremely lonely. We were all uneasy because we could not help her fill the vacant spots left by losing those who knew her best. I saw how she felt alone even when surrounded by many people and thus the decision to look into retirement facilities was made. Mom's favourite from the places she visited was Heaton Place; despite our worries, respect, understanding and friendship were provided to Mom here. More than just a facility or building - Heaton Place is where our Mom lives now; it is her home. It is managed by staff members who go beyond just their duties to take care of residents like Mom and make them feel welcomed like family members. Carrie is especially a blessing to all around her; residents adore her! Carrie's presence at Heaton Place has given us back our peace of mind: it may sound simple but we know this place is truly a gift!
