Shelley has been deteriorating over the years since new ownership. The units, while being an "ok" size, are shabby and old; even after partial renovations they still have poor quality finishes. It's located in a bad neighborhood with theft and noise problems. Bus service is also very sparse. Maintenance can be hard to come by because they are too busy flipping units for rent due to the high turn over rate. Bedroom windows are badly insulated, ice up and leak down walls, plus kitchen fans aren't great either. Carpeting may look ok but it causes allergies to act up if you're sensitive to pets or dust/smoke in general. Cigarette smoke also drifts into units through bathroom vents from surrounding tenants as floors aren't soundproof at all! Summer months bring extreme heat for main/top floor tenants and electrical issues like sparking outlets or tiny fires inside outlets can occur in older units too! Pictures of any minor damages should be taken when moving in as you will be charged for replacements of counters or flooring upon leaving otherwise. Management often inspects units without warning to make sure no washing machines/dishwashers etc...are present which keeps disturbing tenants regularly!
