Be cautious when making a deposit before living in this place - they simply want your money. Do not sign a lease for subletting, as it is probably a fraud. The property manager was very negligent in inspection prior to the lease; he just left and would not say anything about it. I lived there for less than six months, but at the end of the agreement my deposit of $900 was taken away from me. The house was already old before I moved in, which makes this act even more unfair.
I attempted to contact the building manager several times via email but no one replied to my complaints. On phone calls, it seemed like they were trying to avoid responsibility and didn't care about me at all - unless I decided to take them to court! In any case: don't live here!
I have been living in this building for nearly four years, and I am writing this after the misguided reviews of the building. It is important to note that this is a large residential building, not a hotel, and it would be impossible to find better accommodation at such a location for the same price.
The location is excellent; it is situated between three metro stations (Atwater, Concordia and George Vanier), which are all within seven minutes' walk. There are buses heading in every direction of Montreal surrounding the area as well as three major supermarkets (IGA, PA and Adonis), all within seven minutes' walk from Alexis Nihon Mall. Furthermore, there are four-five universities and colleges within seven minutes' walking distance plus plenty of grocery shops, cafes and pharmacies.
24 hour security guard on site with surveillance systems in place along with quick repairs when needed; air conditioning units installed throughout the building along with an indoor pool and sauna too! The new building manager (Diana) has been doing an impressive job of maintaining the big premises after suffering due to COVID-19 lockdown's impact over a short period.
Note: ensure you leave your room as clean as you received it if you want to avoid anyI have been living in this building for nearly four years, and I am writing this after the misguided reviews of the building.
