My parents moved into Palermo when it was newly opened and only two other people had already settled in. Once they arrived, their quality of life improved drastically; the two bedroom suite was spacious and bright, the building itself was lovely, and they looked forward to going down to the dining room for meals. Sadly, my dad got ill a year later but everyone at Palermo were incredibly supportive during this hard time. Afterwards, my mother went to a one-bedroom plus den suite and she felt safe in her surroundings - she was very proud of where she stayed. I don't have enough words to express how much help and comfort the staff gave me while my parents were living at that residence - I would highly recommend it for anyone whose elderly parents want to leave daily life stress behind them and just enjoy each day as it comes. Lastly, I think an important factor is that Palermo is not too large; if residences are too massive then residents won't be able to build close relationships with each other or with staff members since there will be multiple dining areas. It's perfectly sized so that it feels like a real neighborhood with an atmosphere you can sense when you enter the building.
