Built in the 1960s, Willow Gardens is a bit outdated and it's common to see silverfishes around the apartment. Additionally, there have been reports of rat infestations that the current property managers are unfamiliar with handling. The area used to have a supermarket, shopping mall, and library nearby; however, due to Oakridge mall being under construction for at least a decade these amenities are no longer easily accessible. To make matters worse, the nearest SkyTrain station and restaurant are 10 minutes away on foot while the nearest supermarket is 30 minutes away. Despite its drawbacks though, this location has an advantage: it's close to Annie B. Jamieson Elementary School which is known for its quality education – this makes it popular with families as children can be heard playing outside during summer holidays until 10pm if your apartment overlooks the garden or swimming pool area.
