It has been 6 years since I moved into my building and it used to be great. Everything was orderly and maintained well; the lights worked in public areas, no garbage lying around, and there was even a concierge service on site. However, ever since CapReit took over management of the building, everything has gone downhill. The lobby is now without lights, making it tricky to access mail boxes with their tiny keys in the dark. Also, the garbage bins in the basement are often filled to overflowing with debris blocking emergency exits. No more concierge services either - so if you lose your keys you better have generous friends or money for a hotel room! Heat is included in rent but only 18C which I find too cold so I'm running an electric heater all the time; bathroom isn't heated at all either as cold air comes through vents making it unbearable when using them. Despite complaining three times about apartment heat nothing has been done so this must be what they expect us to live with. As for repairs? Three weeks ago there was a nasty smell coming from my closet after moving some shelves - turns out there was water damage causing a bad odour which has gotten into all my clothes! She made report about water damage in both my closet and entrance but almost three weeks more ... hide ...
