Campus1 MTL offers a unique student living experience that I was able to lease through McGill University. The building is modern and usually clean, with accessible amenities like a gym, half-basketball court, cardio room, yoga room, lounge and study areas. Interactions with staff can be inconsistent however; some are dismissive and rude while others are more attentive or friendly. The cafeteria has decent space but the food quality and portion sizes aren't great. Unfortunately those who leased directly through Campus1 don't have the option to eat at other dining halls like those of us who leased through McGill do.
I lived in a split double-room which was small but average for a first year residence hall; however rent seemed too high given all of the issues present there. On the plus side there's an active student community with many opportunities for group hikes, trips, and activities. During COVID-19 Campus1 took general guidelines to their extreme; setting harsh capacity limits as well as restrictions on visitors/guests in the building (though some were due to McGill policies). There were also issues with false fire alarms (especially during midterm exams), wifi crashing frequently (less so now), plumbing problems that caused blCampus1 MTL offers a unique student living experience that I was able to lease through McGill University. There were also issues with false fire alarms (especially during midterm exams), wifi crashing frequently (less so now), plumbing problems that caused black/brown water from taps/showers plus semi-frequent elevator stoppages - resulting in me being stuck once for 45 minutes! And finally laundry costs are pricey ($4.25 per load) yet often ineffective ($2 dryers leaving clothes damp).
