I've been here for years, and the apartment has gone from okay to awful. Parking is horrible; you only get one spot per apartment - it's so bad that visitors are never a possibility. People who can park on Catalpa Street do so recklessly, and everyone else is pushed to La Palma Avenue four blocks away, where the residential area requires permits. Both my car and my husband's have been broken into twice in our carport! I've seen other neighbors with similar stories too, but management doesn't seem to care. The old manager was actually alright until Carmen came along - she's not great with people and insists on speaking Spanish in voicemails when I respond in English. Others have complained about her mistreatment or negligence as well. Maintenance staff consists of two or three creepy old men who only speak Spanish; they enter homes without asking permission which makes me uncomfortable. The layout is ridiculous too; if you live below someone else it's a nightmare as the walls are paper-thin! They recently did "renovations" - replacing carpet with laminate wood flooring, painting walls, changing ovens and closet doors - but all that did was raise rent $300 more than before, still not worth it! There are no ceiling vents in the bathrooms so mold appears quickly; showers back up too while window panes fill with mold when it rains! Roaches and termites also appear frequently here: don't rent this place or you'll regret it!!more ...hide ...
