If you're considering living in a Capreit building, look for another place. They neglect any issues for months and instead of fixing them, they'd rather come to your apartment and argue. When I signed my lease, supposedly everything was supposed to be new but nothing had been renovated and the appliances were over 10 years old. The fridge was broken, the oven kept malfunctioning, and the smoke alarm went off randomly at night - Capreit did some partial renovating after a month but it took them 6 months to replace the fridge, 3 years to fix the oven, and they refused to repair damage caused during renovation that's been almost 4 years now. Last year there were multiple problems with things like entrance door being smashed as well as elevator breaking down; however it took months for them to address those issues (and unsurprisingly entrance door has been smashed again with no sign of repair). As if that wasn't enough their security service didn't even bother answering my calls when I couldn't get into my own apartment due contact numbers being wrong or offices not answerable; so I eventually had to use force myself during work hours!
