This morning, a pipe burst in the bathroom, causing flooding to enter the kitchen/living room in seconds. I used any material I had on hand--towels, clothes, blankets and duvets--to contain it from spreading further. The residential manager came but was unable to stop it; however, I eventually managed to shut off the water knob. Afterward, maintenance arrived and was very helpful and sympathetic. In contrast with them, the manager said nothing of apology or gratitude for my (and other tenants') efforts in containing the damage which could have been much worse if we hadn't been home at that time. To make matters worse she refuses to compensate me for these troubles caused by this property! Now all my belongings are soaked requiring me to use my small in-suite washer/dryer all day long so that I can sleep tonight; as a result electricity and water bills will skyrocket! It's unbelievable they won't even give a reasonable amount toward these costs!
