The neighbourhood and residents of Marda are great, though the management leaves much to be desired. During our residence, we experienced a multitude of issues, such as loud construction for months on end, misinformation from management during said construction, not being notified when the mail boxes/storage units were broken into and the mail boxes being unavailable for weeks at some point. There were also constant problems with parking availability in paid areas and three turnover of building managers throughout our tenancy. The primary issue was that Greystone does a very poor job managing the buildings and handling tenant troubles--so disappointing that when it came time to do a walkthrough on move out, even our most recent manager didn't show up! Despite loving the convenience of this building's location, it is possible to find similar convenience elsewhere with an efficient management company.

We had a really bad experience living in this place about a year ago. Fire alarms were going off all the time, and the property manager changed constantly. When we moved out, we were told that if we wanted our money back, we shouldn't have moved into a unit that no one had lived in before. The quality of materials used to build it was poor – our faucet fell off when we turned it on and off, the blinds wouldn't open when we moved in, and the shower drain came out within weeks of us moving in. We also ended up with a leak through our ceiling because of shoddy plumbing work. Even their own contractors said how badly everything was done – according to them it was very noisy too which made living here especially bad for us since our two-year old daughter was living with us at this point. So desperate were we to leave that we ended up paying two rents instead of waiting until the end of our lease agreement and moving out early; since then, life has been much better for us!

This neighbourhood has a lot of potential, but there are a few problems that can't be ignored. The quality of the building and property management is very poor; in fact, it's laughable. In the year we were living here, we encountered various issues like: construction noise making it impossible to work from home; no reimbursement for some people on our floor despite others getting $500; having to get into our unit with a master key given to someone else in the building instead of Greystone personnel (they still charged us nothing); mailbox broken into multiple times and not fixed for weeks; parking and price not reasonable for the area; break-ins in parkade/storage units; bathroom fan, mirror/kitchen faucet breaking down often; window shattering due to cold weather yet not being fixed over 2 months later. Even more frustrating was having to pay for painting entire wall if anything was hung on it! Overall, I don't recommend this place in Marda Loop as there are better options out there. I have already let Greystone know my frustrations so hopefully they take action - though I won't call them back once they reply.
