This review is a tribute to all the staff at Greisbach Chartwell, from top to bottom, for their strength, compassion and unwavering care for their residents throughout the past nine months—especially since the virus hit our city. No one could’ve predicted what would become of COVID-19 as 2020 progressed; it became more unpredictable and contagious as time went on. Shutdowns impacted us all, but none more than those unable to be with their parents and loved ones—the people who have been by our side all our lives looking out for us, encouraging us to stay strong and persevere. Fortunately, COVID-19 did not take our mother away from us; however, it took away my ability to visit her. I understand that this was an incredibly challenging time for everyone in care facilities. Despite this hardship though, my family called everyday and focused on the positives in order to ensure that things would eventually get better soon. The entire staff at Greisbach has been nothing short of amazing since Mom moved in over a year ago—they did much more than what was written in their job descriptions; they were true heroes who were appreciated not just by the residents but also by other staff members and communities alike.
