College Hill Apartments provide a no-frills living space of modest quality, with off-street parking and good access to Grand Rapids downtown (20-30 minutes) and midtown (10 minutes). It was built in the 1970s and last renovated in the 1990s, so it has some problems like crumbling brickwork, poor pavement condition, old walls with multiple coats of paint, cheap carpets and windows that leak. Heat bills can be high during winter due to electric radiators. Green Property Management runs the building; they are more concerned about maintenance than improving conditions. Low flow faucets were installed as well as energy efficient lightbulbs; kitchens were renovated. Unfortunately, trash is left around entrances and parking lots; tenant-only parking is not enforced either. We were told at the last minute that we should get rid of furniture or be charged $150 - although it was stated in our lease that GPM would take care of it upon move out. Communication with property manager Tristan is practically non existent since office stays vacant most of the time - emails/voicemails do not get answered for days if ever. College Hill may be attractive based on its location but other than four walls and roof over your head there isn't much else goinCollege Hill Apartments provide a no-frills living space of modest quality, with off-street parking and good access to Grand Rapids downtown (20-30 minutes) and midtown (10 minutes).
