My main issues as a resident are safety concerns, vehicles driving in and out of the parking lot without being noticed, lack of clear signage for new drivers in the neighborhood, pay meters located behind buildings, narrow main road entrance from Thorncliffe Road and an unused roundabout between buildings 75 and 79.
We need to ensure our security by having cameras on every floor and security guards present in all three buildings. We can also consider using the roundabout for a children's play area or visitor parking space if residents are willing to pay for maintenance costs or entry passes.
Living here is like being part of a family; we must look out for each other mentally and physically. Even when I'm away at work, my mind is still back home worrying about whether everything is okay; whenever my phone rings I fear something might have gone wrong.
Living here the past four years has been longer than I've stayed in any rental in Toronto. It's a safe area, and my car insurance decreased by fifty bucks a month when I moved from Scarborough. Even when all of Toronto was without power due to an ice storm, this building wasn't affected at all. As far as water/heating goes, there weren't any issues either - just wish it had central AC, but I bought a portable unit for my apartment. The place was clean and free of cockroaches; however, the kitchen cabinets needed some improvement. Furthermore, it was convenient that mail gets delivered directly to my apartment instead of having to go down to the lobby - though unfortunately the laundry card charging station didn't work and I had to refill my card in another building. There's a shopping mall literally across the street from me and jogging alongside Don River is something I did frequently; overall this is one of the best places I've lived during my time in Toronto!

If you're considering living in this apartment, don't waste your money. It was advertised as having one month free off a one year lease but that wasn't honored; instead I was made to pay discounted first and last months' rent. My automatic-rent deposit was then charged on the first day of moving in, totaling up to three months' worth paid instead of two. When I brought attention to this error and stated that I'm paying a month in advance for rent, they retorted that I hadn't paid the full amount when I had already explained that it had been discounted due to their false advertisement of one month free. They still accuse me of owing them $860, but will not return the extra month's rent they charged me.
Moreover, there was no heat in my apartment all winter which led to my hamster dying from pneumonia and my cat constantly having sniffles and sneezing. The balconies were replaced improperly with little privacy between apartments sharing them; additionally, my neighbors operate a sweat shop down the hall with sewing machines running all night and another neighbor has five children (four toddlers and a newborn) who are always screaming or banging on walls—the walls are so thin you can hear every sound! My balcony doesn't get any sunlight facing northeast: no day sun or sunset; just occasional glimpses of sunrise before 10am which is gone soon after.
