The rental contract was the worst one around; no monthly arrangements. After living in the accommodation for over a year, I had to go through tough negotiations to get a month-to-month contract which enabled me to move into my house. If I didn't give them at least two months notice about renewing my lease, they charged 150% of my rent. The area was on the outskirts of the city and I had to pay $175 for above ground parking. On 30 degree days, the heaters were at full blast and it took multiple service calls before this could be fixed. Alongside this, there were cracks running down my apartment's wall with a picture window that came from building shifting. Even after 10 days as specified by law, they refused to return my damage deposit money back to me.
