I'm disappointed in La Salle Apartments - from their architecture to management. I'm here to warn potential lessees before they make a decision. I can only speak for the 1 bedroom units, but if those are so bad, imagine the state of larger units. There were features that I overlooked with the architectural design that caused my stay to be unpleasant: a) windows are old and hard to open; b) maintenance said cracks & gaps in all units make it easier for them; c) short people have difficulty accessing cabinets and tall people have trouble walking/using showerhead; d) fridge door can't open fully due to wall or kitchen storage being in the way; e) kitchen vent is noisy and non-functional; f) cabinets squeaky & rusty; g) downstairs neighbors get sprayed when upstairs neighbors use water pipe/spill water outside; h) walls are too thin for sound privacy. Management is unprofessional - they don't help with contract issues, just send notices via email/flyers about smoking-free policy, which is ignored anyway! When asked questions (in person or via email), they do not answer directly nor sympathetically. It seems like if you smoke weed but aren't caught by management, there won't be any repercussions either.
