Beginning with the statement that what I am about to relate is indeed true and supported by evidence, on June 7, 2019--just two months after moving into these apartments--I experienced a horrific situation. A Hispanic teenager with dark hair and eyes of average height and build entered the courtyard, raised his gun in the air, and discharged two shots. My three-year-old toddler was in the courtyard at that time while her father watched from our balcony; she was only steps away from him when he fired his weapon. It must be noted that bullets discharged into the air come down at a random target. Thankfully my child wasn't hurt this time but what if she had been? Afterward we purchased guns so as not to feel defenseless again. Unfortunately this didn't stop this individual from returning to our courtyard and making threatening gestures with his gun; there were three or four such incidents which the property manager is aware of but has done nothing about despite being contacted multiple times by me via phone call, email, etcetera.
