Hillcrest's units are nicer compared to Park Place next door, and the utilities costs are low with quick response time on maintenance requests. Unfortunately, the thin doors mean that you can hear noisy neighbors, and there was an issue with a non-smoking complex but it smelled of weed. The location is not ideal as it is noisy and depressing with trash everywhere plus an overgrown lot full of liquor bottles nearby. There is supposedly security but this was a lie—there are no cameras or patrols. This means there have been thefts, break-ins, and people sneaking into the laundry rooms to smoke in the last 6 months and homeless people loitering around. The management's apology for my experience wasn't necessary since I expect this from a low-cost McKinley property located on Stadium's bad side; rather, this review aims to provide a factual report of my experience at Hillcrest.
