I had a terrible experience with the old property manager, who was very unreasonable. Maintenance did patch jobs that were sloppy and potentially hazardous. The parking garage doors weren't properly maintained and would sometimes trap us inside. The rec room was full of grime while the facilities were in a state of disrepair. However, when the new property manager arrived, I hoped things would improve for tenants' sake. We wanted to stay despite all this, but after requesting compensation for being forced to live and work during COVID lockdown in a construction zone we received non-renewal notices from higher ups. It felt like they hadn't been honest with us until we asked; all they kept saying was "deadline", then offering referral bonuses or free rent - but only for new tenants - as well as rent hikes during the pandemic which then dropped back down slightly as 'compensation'. There were issues like mold in the parking garage, vent build up and sidewalk disrepair posing risk to those with mobility needs; additionally, garbage repair was done during winter without prior warning given. To their credit though they did turn an unused tennis court into parking lot at lower cost when asked for it; however electricity wasn't included tI had a terrible experience with the old property manager, who was very unreasonable. To their credit though they did turn an unused tennis court into parking lot at lower cost when asked for it; however electricity wasn't included there nor could you use two appliances at once or cook properly over holidays due to electrical issues (although this is understandable given how old the building is). Not to mention smoking wasn't allowed except for those grandfathered in yet still came through vents! In hindsight though I'm grateful for thatmore ...hide ...
I'll address some of the comments I've seen about this place. We stayed in a unit on the 16th floor from June to December 2016, just as they were starting construction. It was really annoying to be woken up by drilling 7 days a week and having to keep windows closed all summer. Although it was necessary work (bricks were actually falling off the side of the building), it was great when it finally stopped. To those complaining about how management handled questions, if you had hundreds of people asking you when drilling would stop each day, your responses would be short too; so I don't think Cathy or Charlene should get blamed for that.
Negatives:
1- Garbage chute is small and can't fit a regular bag- have to take them down to P1 manually (unless you don't have access)
2- During winter ice accumulates quickly on ramp to P2 before snow removal comes
3- Instances of theft while we lived there - mailboxes and woman mugged in lobby area
4- Elevators are slow and not in sync - once waited 15 minutes from 16th floor
Good points:
1- Management is great - paid on time, never had issues other than with parking garage - Cathy offered move to P1 garage
2- Maintenance requests done same/next day
3- Suites were huge with plenty of spaI'll address some of the comments I've seen about this place.
