This establishment has been the source of an immense roach infestation since we moved in - despite being promised a bug-free environment when signing the lease. Management has not addressed this issue appropriately, only performing the minimal steps required to exterminate them. Unless they prioritize this problem and actually eliminate all traces of the pests, it will never be resolved. We have had to endure this for almost two years despite living in a very tidy home, and management's excuses have been unhelpful. Moving out is our only option come springtime - I'd recommend avoiding renting from what is now essentially a slum lord!

I resided in Toronto as a renter for the past 15+ years, having spent 4 of those at 75 Halsey Avenue. Not once was I faced with a problem in that building - mice were present due to its proximity to a large park, though this was settled quickly. This high-class accommodation was much better than other apartments in the city and rents were reasonable. The staff were superb and management proactive; it is without doubt the finest apartment complex around East York, ON. Despite rising rental prices due to Toronto rent control by-laws, it's worth every penny; maintenance was taken care of, new elevators installed and even the indoor pool got renovated during my stay at 75 and 65 Halsey Avenue. When I had to leave suddenly for personal reasons, I almost shed tears - they even offered to transfer my lease so I wouldn't have to vacate abruptly! Owned by Gonte Construction (a top landlord in Toronto), they also give people on ODSP an opportunity if asked politely as their owner is a Holocaust survivor who believes all should have an equal chance when applying for tenancy. ***5 Stars***
