Renting at Park Plaza can be a risky business. I lived there for twelve months and it was fine initially, but a few issues began to arise. The noise level is extremely high due to the building's inadequate soundproofing, despite its construction of steel and concrete. You'll hear people conversing, loud music, and dogs running around your unit as well as from the apartment above you and in the hallway when people walk by. Dog owners are welcome here but if you're located near any, prepare yourself for lengthy barking spells and accompanying odors in the hallways. The two windows both face one direction so there is little opportunity for air circulation or natural light. Strangely enough my car insurance increased when I moved into this area (it reverted back after my departure). Not sure of the neighborhood's safety ratings but police cars were often seen in both the apartment parking lot and Newfoundland Court townhouse parking lot that adjoins it. Before renting here think twice because if these factors become too bothersome you won't be able to break your lease agreement early without consequences. I've been living in this place for a couple of weeks and I'm quite happy with it. Although the units are really small, the room they call a second bedroom fits my desk, chair as well as bookcases perfectly. The interior is nice with modern design, beautiful floors, interesting layouts and attractive details like granite counter-tops and recessed ceilings. In addition, there's barely any sound from other apartments which is great. However, this place has its own quirks - one being that even when it's 13 degrees outside it can get up to 26°C inside the apartment! It doesn't help that I'm not allowed to open the windows more than 2-3 inches or put an air conditioner in either. Lastly when it's windy out this place sounds like a haunted house due to wind whistling through all the open windows creating an eerie ghost symphony - funny at first but after 12 hours it starts wearing on your nerves!
