In regards to 21 Highfield Park Drive, I can attest that the saying "you get what you pay for" is accurate. Though rent is cheap and the location convenient, the apartment itself falls short--being small and having poor noise insulation. Furthermore, my building's front and back doors had broken locks all year (despite complaints). There are no cameras either; mailboxes are located outside without needing to enter a "secure" area but they can be easily opened with keys or knife. During my stay this happened multiple times without consequence because of lack of cameras. The surrounding area is good (near a bus hub, etc.), though Highfield itself isn't necessarily the nicest neighbourhood--not as bad as it used to be however. On the plus side, cats and dogs are allowed which is a bonus if you have pets. When I tried to terminate my lease early by subletting they turned down several applicants without explanation.

I cannot emphasize enough: Do not move to Westdale! The staff have no regard for tenant/landlord protocol; when challenged, they become hostile and hang up. The buildings are full of ants and roaches, yet the pest problem is neglected. In order to prove my case I had to make audio recordings and take screenshots of emails. They even resorted to threatening us with the police or tenancy board for their own wrongdoings. After living here for 6 years we finally had enough - they towed our car away illegally, forcing us to use their company credit card in order to get it back! This place is one of the worst apartments I've ever lived in - unless you have no other option, please do not move here!
